Paolo Pininfarina, President and CEO of Italian design powerhouse Pininfarina Extra, and Aaron Heck, co-owner of the wine producing Heck Estates, have joined forces to assemble a portfolio featuring select wines from winegrowing regions throughout the world.
They plan to feature a new wine-growing region each year, adding selected wines to the venture's wine offerings. As regions are selected and incorporated into the portfolio, one common thread will link them all together: each wine will represent an example of top quality production of the most celebrated varietal from each unique appellation, made by celebrated winemakers from each region. |

The 2008 Label Competition awards, one of the various prizes assigned by the professional judges at the San Francisco International Wine Competition, held at San Francisco's Hotel Nikko on June 13th, 14th and 15th, 2008, awards excellence in label design in the wine industry.
The jury selected the winning designs for their high artistic merit and brand-enhancing communicative qualities. |

That is the number of bottles of Lambrusco DOC from Modena which have been certified with the well known small red label applied to the 'shoulder' of the bottle by the Consorzio Marchio Storico dei Lambruschi Modenesi Consortium [for the] Historic Brand of the Lambruscos from Modena) since it started its activities back in 1970. For 38 years now, the red label, bearing the symbol of the Catherine wheel from the Duomo di Modena (Cathedral of Modena) surrounded by bunches, has been the distinctive element used by the consortium to guarantee that the organoleptic characteristics of the wine in the bottle are those required by the disciplinare (production rules.)
